Fundamentals of Financial Planning is the first course in the Online Certified Financial Planner Program. This course provides an overview of the basics of financial planning and the functions of the financial planner. As a prerequisite for other courses in the program, it covers financial planning tools and techniques, including the use of a financial calculator, financial statement analysis, basic economics, funding for education needs, and dealing with clients.
Insurance Planning is the second course in the Online Certified Financial Planner Program. This course demonstrates how insurance planning is a vital and integral part of the comprehensive financial plan. It identifies risks that can be insured by the client, surveys various insurance solutions, explains the tax treatment of those solutions, and addresses how the industry is regulated.
Investment Planning is the third course in the Online Certified Financial Planner Program. This course provides participants with the requisite skills to understand various types of investments, make appropriate recommendations to help clients achieve their financial objectives, and measure portfolio performance in achieving those objectives.
Income Tax Planning is the fourth course in the Online Certified Financial Planner Program. This course is a comprehensive survey of personal and business income taxation. It provides an in-depth understanding of current tax law and an examination of techniques that are utilized in effective tax planning.

Estate Planning is the sixth course in the Online Certified Financial Planner Program. This course focuses on tools and techniques to accumulate, conserve, and distribute an estate in accordance with the client's objectives. This includes methods of reducing or eliminating Federal Gift and Estate Taxation. It includes the capstone case study, which utilizes knowledge learned in all six courses.
Developing the Financial Plan is the capstone course in the Online Certified Financial Planner Program. This course will teach students the steps in developing a financial plan, the elements necessary for ensuring the plan meets the needs and goals of the client, and will require the student to prepare a written plan for grading based on a case study, and then orally present that plan to one of our instructors via video conference.
