CFP® Board Updates
Updated demographics from the CFP Board reveals there are now nearly 90,000 CFP® Professionals. With the CFP Board exam in July, we will no doubt cross over that mark and head towards 100,000. An impressive number when you consider there were just over 60,000 just a few years ago. These numbers are a strong indicator of the growing demand for the certification.
One alarming statistic reveals nearly 50% of CFP® Professionals are over the age of 50, while only 5.6% are under 30. This reinforces the need for younger professionals to enter the field and create a sustainable source of trusted advisors for the future.
Finally, the CFP Board has been working diligently to increase both gender and racial diversity among CFP® Professionals, and there is still a long way to go in that effort as only 26% of CFP® Professionals are female.
