High Satisfaction Among CFP Professionals

The CFP Board has released findings from a recent survey of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professionals, showing high satisfaction with their careers and highlighting the positive impact of CFP® certification on their professional lives.

These insights come from the CFP Board’s 2024 survey, conducted by Heart + Mind Strategies LLC, which aimed to gather feedback from CFP® professionals about their careers, the CFP Board, and the financial planning profession as a whole. Key findings from the survey include:

• 87%of CFP® professionals report being satisfied with their career choice.
• 89%are pleased with their decision to obtain CFP® certification.
• 80%say that holding the CFP® certification gives them a “competitive edge” over non-certified financial professionals.
• CFP® professionals emphasize that the CFP Board’s most important initiatives include upholding rigorous competency and ethical standards, as well as increasing the awareness and visibility of CFP® certification.

Additionally, two-thirds of CFP® professionals are actively involved in their communities by:

• Offering guidance on charitable giving, whether in time or money, and
• Serving on boards or acting as advisors to charitable organizations.
